All MCM metadata is now in the LTER Network-standardized format, EML (Ecological Metadata Language). This is a big step towards LTER network-wide data synthesis. Our data can now be queried along with all of the other LTER sites from a centralized location.

The online home of The Lost Seal, the second in the LTER children's book series, is now available. View kids' Antarctic-inspired artwork and comments from all over the world! The book will be published in print in June, 2006.

The Antarctic Sun, published during the austral summer for the USAP, features the collaborative effort of MCM LTER scientists as the lead story in this week's issue.

Just added - New Searchable Photo Database - A large database of high-quality documented images from the Dry Valleys is being compiled. The database is still being populated and will grow significantly in the next few months, but it is now fully functional. Go in a poke around!
