Lee is a microbial ecologist and is interested in understanding how changes in microbial structure and function related to larger scale ecosystem processes such as ecosystem productivity. Lee earned a BS from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her previous work focused on the interactions between physical and chemical changes, particularly disturbances and environmental change, on microbial diversity and community composition.
